PRIORITIES

Eva Rigney for Mayor

Together, We'll Build "A Shining City on a Hill"

My Priorities Will be Clear

As mayor, my priorities will be clear:

Enforce public safety with smart, modern strategies and technology

we will not only address crime but will also address the safety of our public spaces and sidewalks.

Provide transparency through quarterly financial reports open to the public we will no longer accept taxation with out representation and accountability.

Conduct monthly "Beachside Chats" to ensure that every resident can directly reach me; by providing a platform for our community's voices to be acknowledged, I, as mayor, can implement changes that reflect your voices.

Partner with the Chamber of Commerce & city leadership to recruit employers who pay $50,000 or more, creating lasting prosperity for our residents.

Collaborate with local businesses, city leadership and the Chamber of Commerce, Visit Myrtle Beach & the Myrtle Beach Downtown Alliance to establish, create and promote family focused events such as:

-The annual Low Country Cultural Festival to honor and celebrate the Low Country's unique traditions, food, music, and storytelling of the Gullah Geechee people—the heart of the Lowcountry’s heritage.

-The annual Myrtle Beach Regatta, bringing residents and visitors together through sailing, racing, and concerts

-Community events that strengthen our sense of pride and belonging.

Why You Should Consider Voting for Me

Now, I must be candid. Albert Einstein once said, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” And the philosopher George Santayana warned us, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” Both wisdoms apply to Myrtle Beach today.

Brenda Bethune and Mark Kruea have had their chance.

Even though Mr. Kruea was not mayor, he held an important position in city government. Yet he stayed silent, protecting his comfortable salary instead of protecting the people.

Now he wants to be mayor?

Where was his leadership when the Master Plan for Rehabilitation was “rubber-stamped”—his words, not mine?

Myrtle Beach cannot afford to keep repeating the same mistakes, hoping for different results.

It is time for a new direction.

I’ve told you my story because I want you to see that, I stand as a symbol of hope—for those who have been minimized, for those who have been told “NO,” for those who wonder, if the American dream is still alive...

HOPE that our city can be safe and welcoming for all who call it home.

When you vote for me, you are voting for hope—hope for safer neighborhoods, stronger jobs, and a brighter, more prosperous Myrtle Beach. For that reason,

I humbly ask for your support and your vote on November 4.
